JYJ is the 3-member group formed from 3 of the ex-members of the Korean boyband TVXQ. The group “J.Y.J” represents the first initial of the member’s first names. The members are Kim Jaejoong, Park Yuchun and Kim Junsu. JYJ officially banded in May 2010 after the lawsuit between the 3 members and their previous Korean label, S.M. Entertainment, in 2009. The group hosted their first fanmeeting concerts, [JYJ THANKSGIVING LIVE IN DOME] at Osaka and Tokyo, Japan (June 2010). In September 2010 JYJ released their first mini album titled, 「The..」, and the DVD version of their ]THANKSGIVING LIVE IN DOME] concerts. JYJ traveled to L.A. in June 2010 to record with popular American artists Kanye West and Rodney Jerkins for their first full length album. This album incorporates an “American flare” and will not only be sold in Asia but also in the US making this a “worldwide” album. The group also participated in the a-nation ’10 concerts. On September 7, 2010 it was officially released that JYJ has joined the East Asia Entertainment company and will focus their activities on China, Hong Kong and Taiwan. With the release of their first worldwide English album, The Beginning, a worldwide showcase tour was held. This showcase featured cities in the US including, New York, Las Vegas and LA. After a year, JYJ have officially made their comeback in Korea and are releasing their first Korean album in January of 2011. Kim Jaejoong/ Kim Jejung
Jaejoong was born in Gongju, Chungcheongnam-do, South Korea. At the youthful age of fifteen, he moved to Seoul to partake in the auditions held by SM Entertainment. After overcoming hardships to reach his lifelong dream, Jaejoong auditioned at SM Entertainment in 2001. On December 26, 2003, he debuted as a member of TVXQ at a BoA and Britney Spears showcase. Between the years of 2003-2010, TVXQ released four Korean albums, four Japanese albums, 31 Japanese singles, and has a record of 8 #1 singles on the Oricon Charts; continuing to shatter records to this day.
In his solo efforts, he has a proven capacity of exuding powerful vocals, writing mind-blowing compositions, and is now mastering the art of acting. As of 2010, Jaejoong is starring as Park Sonsu “Doctor” in the Japanese drama, Sunao Ni Narenakute. In addition, he has earned the title of Best Face in Asia and South Korea for his charming good looks. Jaejoong has shown the ingenious capability to be one of the most influential artists of our time.
Park Yoochun/ Park Yuchun
Yoochun was born in Seoul, Korea and later immigrated to the United States with his parents and younger brother. While residing in the states, he was scouted by Brothers Entertainment and later joined SM Entertainment.
Like his fellow bandsmen, he debuted as a member of TVXQ on December 26, 2003. Recently, Yoochun is featured as the male lead in Bee TVs Beautiful Love as the character Yoonsu. He will also portray Lee Sun Joon in an upcoming drama Sungkyunkwan Scandal. Let’s cross our fingers for season 2.
Yoochun, who is known for his sweet smile, sweeps women off their feet with his bedroom voice. Don’t be fooled by his boyish charms though. He is an illustrious composer with great promise, a captivating actor with the ability to draw the audience into his every word, and uses the same conviction when he croons the simplest lines of a song. Be careful ladies – we have yet to see the paramount of this icon.
Kim Junsu was born December 15, 1987 in Gyeonggi-do, South Korea. He has an older twin brother, Junho, who has also debuted as a talented singer in 2010. He auditioned for SM Entertainment and was signed on February 12, 2000. Along with fellow band mates Jaejoong and Yoochun, Junsu debuted as a member of TVXQ December 26, 2003.
Currently, Junsu has been featured as the leading actor for the stage play Mozart. He won Best Male Rookie for the 4th Musical Awards for his role. He even sold out the performances several nights. This talented young man also released a single entitled, Intoxication, which skyrocketed to the #2 spot on the Oricon Chart. As of 2011, Junsu will be starring in the Broadway musical “Tears of Heaven”. Keep an eye out for his approximated appearance in the United States in early 2012.
Although Junsu is known for his angel-like cuteness and oyaji gags, however those aren’t the best talents he possesses. Music is his essence. During performances and solo works, Junsu emanates pure power and soul with every part of his being when he sings. His sensual dance moves captivate the audience, leaving them in awe and desiring more. The dedication and assiduous efforts to be a better artist is truly seen through him. Junsu demonstrates super star power and will continue to reveal his radiance for the world to see.
